hi
i have a lorry share with person x, i have the major share the pay load is only enough for 1 horse, but the other person seems to use it more, doesn't let me know that they are going to use it, arrange to use it one day for a show then they don't go, but don't tell me so i can use it. say they need on the sunday and then use it on the saturday. they also book competitions and then ask for the lorry 2 days before the competition so if i say no then i look a b***h.
if i say i want it on one day then i get told that i may use it that day as they don't need it, and the list goes on and on etc
i told them i need it on two dates 5 and 6 weeks away, they come back booking 8 dates

started to feel like i am being taken advantage of, so my question is to you lot
1, a nice way to say that they are not being fair
2, i want to buy them out as they obviously need a lorry to their selves and me wanting it is in their way

I would buy them out if you can, or get out of the lorry share somehow, its obviously not working for you, not fair and upsetting. I've never had a lorry share but people I know have and its madness, one person uses it 95% of the time, but insists that the other person pays 50% on everything.

Get out - it's not worth it - people fall out over lorry shares all the time. If one person's used it the day before they haven't filled it up for the other person to use it the next day etc etc etc......

I would definately try to buy them out. Sounds like far too much trouble.

If that isn't an option you could put up a calendar in a public place.
That way everything can be written down to be seen by all. Hopefully you will shame them into fairness.

It may be too late for you but I've had 2 lorry shares and both times I had a written agreement with my sharers and both arrangements went (and continue to work) very well.

I've seen too many 'friends' fall out over this exact situation but if you put something in writing at the beginning you both know exactly where you stand.
