advice needed

Well I am probably not the best one to advise as I have never measured just guessed. Most bridles only come in 3 basic sizes, pony, cob and full (unless you have very diddy ponies or huge great horses.) As a guide Murph is about 15.1 with quite a chunky head and he is in full size. If you are getting a replacement bridle I would jsut take the old one into a saddlers for comparison, if you are starting from scratch with a new horse then ask the previous owners, they should be able to help you.

My 16.2 tb took a cob size because her head was rather fine . Probably cob - full size always hung off her. Best thing to do is buy the bridle and ask the saddler can you return it if it doesnt fit - i do this and they always oblige.

I have a 15.2 cob and she needs a full. Can you borrow one from someone on the yard just to measure how long you need each of the sections to be around your horse' head and then take those measurements to the saddlery with you?

The size you need to buy can depend alot on the make and style as well, it'll be a bit of trial and error
