Ok here goes: I have a pony on loan till payed for.( no date for payment due) Had her almost 6 years now, owner refuses to give me passport (if she is the owner), Had several emails saying she wants the money for the little pony, and was demanding I send it thru the post. When I refused she threatened me with theft and take me to court. I told her come get the pony but she never did. Then when I told her she needed to meet me in person, she made up excuses..Then I said can you please send the passport, she used the excuse the pony wasnt hers, the loan agreement was not valid as she wasnt the owner of the pony. Then had other emails saying she was the owner, then others saying the pony belongs to someone else. Then says its against the law to have a pony without a passport. I went to CAB and they sent me to a solicitor but I didnt gain much really.Had to block this woman from emailing me. I told her all correspondance in writing via post.Shes NEVER been to see the pony in the 6 years Ive had her. I cant insure the pony, nor can I have her vaccinated etc. This woman is a nasty peice of work and best avoided.

Any ideas??????

If she's not the owner, then she's defrauded you out of any money you've paid. Tell her that if she doesn't either meet you with the passport or give you your money back, you're going to the police.

I did NOT pay for the pony, because of all the lies she kept telling meThe pony is still here on loan. But the woman was trying to get money out of me,by threat techniques.. My question is: If shes NOT the legal owner then WHY did she put the pony on loan in the 1st place. If she is the owner why is she lying all the time. Got all her emails where shes saying shes the owner and others where shes NOT.So you can see why I havent payed for the pony. But she refuses to give the passport anyway until pony is payed for.Legally Im suppost to have the passport as Im the keeper and she knows this as she told me its against the law to not have a passport.

Can I microchip the pony anyway?

I would have thought if she was a scammer, then she would have asked for the money before now. That is if it's the same woman
Have you had no contact up until now? Can you not visit where you got her from? to speak to owner, if they are there still.

:)

Sorry a bit confused here.
Who did you loan the pony from in the first place, you must have met the owner in the begining surely, when you picked him up or she droped him off, and when you sighned the loan agreement, and was the agreement to buy?? and if so, why has it taken so long to pay for him??
Sorry lots of questions, just trying to understand.

She was harrassing me for few years, demanding the "250.00 for the little welsh pony so I STOPPED all contact with her. I havent paid because THE WOMAN HAS CONSTANTLY LIED about ownership of the pony then contradicting herself saying it is her pony hmmmm which is it? Very complicated. When she bought the pony to me she said "Shes not having the passport" but then said she hadnt got it on her.
I wonder if she has a passport.

Did you have the pony before it was compulsary for passports?? Maybe he just did'nt have one before you had him.

OK I got the pony on loan FROM this woman who has LIED about ownership of the pony. She said the pony belongs to her BUT when I refused to post the money to her,SHE threatened me with theft.SO I told her I had a loan agreement and this woman said it was void because the pony wasnt hers (confusing). with me so far?

The woman bought the pony to me. I was friends with her at first but then she turned.
I cant pay for a pony if I do not know if this woman is the real owner!

well are you sure that she doesnt have this pony on loan and is try to sell it on ,
you here so many horror storys where loaner loans horse/pony then sells on without the owners knowledge ,
if she is the proper owner then she would have no problems meeting you, signing a reciept and tranfering money and docoments
, you either say to her she has to meet you in person to sort out money arrangements etc which if she is the correct owner and wanting the money then she would go about it the proper way or say to her to come and pick pony up .either way shes got to come face to face with you

Exactly.I have told her this and I said to her COME GET THE PONY she never did. I did say to her she needed to meet me to do the reciept etc. There was NO way I was sending a cheque thru the post She used excuse that it cost too much in petrol) She lives about 60 miles or so away. Ive never known anyone to pay for a pony via the post.

She told me that her previous owner owed her money for grazing nad had the ponies as payment. Sounds kind of fishy to me.

well in that case they would of sold the ponies straight off to collect money that was outstanding not loan . again , dont pay any money if she wants the money she have to come and get it ,how does she think she going to give you the passport ?? , the pony should of had the passport with him when you first got him , a horse that is traveled without no passport is illigal .

Yes I agree. This woman told me Oh its illegal to have a pony without a passport.Hmmmm well why wont she give it too me then. She tried to say my loan agreement with her is void and I should tear it up (does she think Im so stupid). She said she wasnt the legal owner and shouldnt of put the pony on loan.Hmmmm fishy? Yet in her emails she said she was the owner then in another she wasnt!!!! grrrrrrrr
Im not paying for the pony now.The pony can stay here on loan with me.Shes only a companion for my coloured cob (bought from the same woman (have his passport).
If eventually she should get in touch I will remind her that she has to meet me to exchange money etc.

i would do some back ground checks , if she give you the details , find out passport company that his passport is registered with , and also the passport number ,
give them a ring and just explain to them what has been happing and see who he is registered owner is .

I dont talk too the woman as she was harrassing me. But I went on NED and saw one grey pony but theres wasnt any breed listed so not sure if it is her.The pony is suppost to be registered Welsh section A and SHE is very pretty. This woman wouldnt co operate with you. I did call the welsh society but they couldnt help either. Dont know the pobies registered name.

maybe be worth asking a equine lawyer for advice your probley have a better answer
at the end of the day she has the cheek to say about youand loan agreement but has she relised she cremitted a crime by not sending passport with pony

She probebly does. If shes not the ponies real owner, she had no rights whatsoever to put ther pony out on loan in the first place. But she kept changing her story,as to ownership. So cant believe anything she tell you..
