Did they find the cause of his colic last year? Has there been any change to his routine? Also, maybe get faecal egg counts done just to make sure the wormer you are giving is effective. Good luck and I hope you get to the root of the problem!

Hi, I had a TB x racer that kept loosing weight despite being on hi fibre hi oil, low starch diet. His feet were awful due to constant low grade lami. I persivered from Sept til march and decided to call.it a day (after 2.5 yrs of ownership) and had him pts, as his legs started collapsing. I couldn't physically feed him any more either (was already costing me around 100 pm for his food and hay!!). Alfa a oil, baileys outshine, ers pellets, quick beat etc.. apparently this was what had kept him going as low starch high fibre and oil.

The vet post mortemed him for me as a favour and found out he had hemorages/ulcers in all of his gut (not stomach so wouldn't show on a scope). This could b parasite damage, but wasn't as had worm count done or a protein allergy apparently. Treatment would have been with seroids, but due to lami it wouldn't have been a path we could have followed anyway!!

Hope u have better news. Xxx

I'd be tempted to treat him for colonic ulcers, they're far more common than first realised and can't be seen by a scope.
My boy has them, his current treatment regime is cimetidine and antepsin but there are good results reported with egusin.
Check out the research that Dr Kerry Ridgeway has done.
