Advice needed

Not sure what to do, last night i was told that the two horses i share have to be sold. Having spoken to the owners we have decided there is a few options, can you let me know if you think any of them are viable or what you would do as they want my opinion.

1) Sell both horses as they are short of money and only one of them rides.

2) Sell one and keep one, one owner is very attached to her horse and hates the idea of loosing it. This then brings on the problem of money again but if possible we could loan her out for a year and hope money is better.

3) Get another sharer to cover costs as well as get a livery in to keep her company and cover costs.

4) Loan out both but not sure if we could find one let alone two loan homes.

The other thing is they have been kept in a pair and we are not sure how they will cope being split up. Do you think it would be possible to find a home for both together if not how would you go about separating them with the least amount of stress.

I know i sound stupid but i have never had to sell a horse and don't know what would be the best thing for everybody.

Also if anybody is good at pricing a horse and wouldn't mind helping me work out a price please pm and i will send info as i have no idea nor do owners.
 
i think if it was me, the first route i would go down would be advertising them both for loan but to go together...you'd be surprised what people are out there....there might be a mother and daughter looking for a horse each. if you cant find loan homes then i think the only other option you have is to sell :( unfortunately money is getting tighter and tighter! ive got 5 and only just managing!! could you give us a bit of information on each horse and we'll try and work out a price for you...age, sex, temperment, what its done, is it good in traffic, good with farrier...has it showed ect
im sorry its come to this for you.....i know its heartbreaking
 
I'd go for #3, if it doesn't work out you still have the option to sell. Getting the livery will help the one to be sold adjust to something different than just itself and its field mate.
 
Just a quick bump to see if there is anybody else will help me work out a price, don't want to post details on forum as don't want to get into trouble for putting an ad.
 
Option 3 is probably your best aim. Failing that, if you have to split them up, do it on a yard where there are other horses, don't leave one alone with no others horses for company.
