Hi
Im a novice owner and rider, ive had my horse for 6 months shes a 17 year old fell mare. We moved to a new yard in October and she seems very settled. Shes now in on a night and has limited turnout.
She recently has started bucking under saddle shes had her teeth done and her saddle was professionally fitted in August this year so im unsure as to if its behavioural as she is so lethargic and she is bucking when you kick her or use your stick to ask her to go forward from walk to trot, she will do a few strides of trot and then its back to walk.
Like i say teeth done, getting saddle fitter bck out to check saddle and im going to arrange for someone to come check her back, she is not on any hard feed as shes overweight and dont want her gaining any shes on about 2/3 nets of haylege which im going to change to hay. She bucks even on the lunge and in the school and field when turned out so im not sure if this is normal.
Any advice appreciated and do you think shes being lazy as she has always been a real plod and one you ve had to give a kick to get her forward since the day i bought her.
