I urgently need to sell some brand new stuff, mainly horse boots in order to get a vet out to my horse this afternoon, as she is really ill. So ideally I need to sell it today.

Does anyone have any ideas where I will be able to sell this gear quickly.

Thanks

Try any groups on Facebook, and word of mouth would be my only suggestions I'm afraid. Good luck!

Ask round, ask at the yard and anyone you might know. If horse is very ill just be careful you don't leave it too long before calling the vet out.. May I ask what is wrong with your horse? Hope you get sorted! Preloved is great but not necessarily fast. Better than nothing though.

Local Facebook groups are your best bet. Also see if local tack shops are interested in buying it from you

If you bought any of it recently find the receipt and see if you can return it

Facebook word or mouth and tack shops are your best bet.

If there a reason you need money for the vet today?
Most bill at the end of the month or atleast allow a couple of days if horse needs urgent care but your account is flagged as needing
immediate payments.

Many vets don't need immediate payment - you should get 30 days at minimum so you should be able to call the vet and get treatment asap and then sort out payment in a few days once you've sold the boots.
Even if it's a big bill many vets will agree a payment plan to pay if over a few months so worry about your horses health not the payment side of it for now.

Good luck with the colitis, my mare had it a couple of years ago and she was horribly ill and hospitalised for over a week. One thing I did find out afterwards and wished I'd known at the time, was that when they have an IV line in during a bout of colitis they are something like 85 times more likely to get a thrombosis in the jugular vein. Please keep an eye on the IV site and use Compagel or something to keep the swelling down. My mare fully recovered from the colitis but the thrombosis has been a huge problem ever since.
If you search the threads you should find the advice I was given by other forum members. PM if you need to chat.

My horse is not in hospital, as the toxic collitis struck really quickly, and without warning. At the first sign of her being ill, I got the vet out immediately, but she was too sick to travel at that point, so was treated at home, with huge amounts of antibiotics, steroids and painkillers, which the vet was coming out daily to administer. Shes now on oral antibiotics and is being weaned off the steroids, but the vet is still having to come out regularly to her to check her, in case of a relapse, plus she is now very underweight and weak.

The reason I need the money, my horse got the toxic collitis as a complication of 2 previouis colic attacks. I have the bill for the colic, which im paying off monthly, with an agreement from the vet, but they don't really want to let the bill get any bigger, (nor do I), so I am trying to pay the vet per visit,

Glad to hear that she is improving and that she didn't need IVs. I had the same problem in that it took a lot of antibiotics and vet visits before my mare started to pick up and by then she was very underweight. I found Happy Tummy charcoal and Protexin very good for keeping any relapses at bay and it helped with the recovery and weight gain.
Good luck and I hope she recovers soon.
