To date we have used Fenceman CP250 Electric Fence Energizers however, they are no longer manufactures and have been superseded by a new model.

From your experience what are the best quality energisers on the market at the moment?

I am looking for ones that work from an external 12 Volt leisure battery, are well built and if they require repair one can either get the parts to repair them or send them away for repair?

Many thanks for your help Peter

I bought a Rutland (I think!) solar powered energiser over 3 years ago and it has been in constant use all year round since. It has been invaluable. The main benefit to me is not having to charge batteries and not having to risk the small interval of time when the battery looses power and the fence is not electrified that the ponies would inevitably take advantage of!

I'd have a hotline all day long, though I do have a mole valley one too as bang (literally) for buck was better.

I have seen hotlines come in for servicing and repair that looked like they were at deaths door and be fine :p. Our own hotline is 15 years old and still works great.

I have had a Hotline for many, many years and it has been mended on a couple of occasions and still works, just a bit heavy carrying the battery around to get it charged. Nowadays I have a solar powered one and that saves a lot of carting around, just needs to be boosted when the days get really short. It was expensive but luckily I got it as a present. It came from Mole Valley if you are near to a store.
