Advice on choke please

R just came in, had a bit of haylage and it got a bit stuck. He spent about 20 mins coughing and spluttering, but now seems to be clear. He has eaten a mouthful of haylage with no problem.

Should I:

- feed him hard feed (wet) and haylage as normal but keep an eye on him

or

- leave him with no food for a couple of hours and feed later?

Probably depends on how often you can check on him, if he's at home, then I would feed a sloppy feed now, haylage afterwards. Our vet said that they can be sore due to being scratched soft food is nicer!

again a really sloppy feed, are you able to cut some grass as thats moister

Thanks will try the sloppy feed and cut some grass (it's lovely and freezing out there, just what I wanted to do with my Sunday evening!!! Horses, you have to love them!).

I would actually leave him without for a while then a sloppy feed...
