Hi, i was wondering if anyone would be able to give me any advice/share experience about who would be a good person to send my horse for training for a few months? I have to go to America for 4 months, and I need somewhere to send my 5yro mare. She is showing some potential for dressage, and I don't want all my hard work for the last year to go down hill! So i'd like to send her to someone who can advance her training while i'm away. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences to share, or anyone they could recommend? Location is not really important. Thanks!

Do you just want her worked at home or are you after some one who would take her out and combine the training with some competing as well??
It may be a good idea to find some one nearer to you or who you would like to train with as it would be good to continue the training and get some your self with her. So that when you get back from being away she is not a 'stranger ' to you.
be careful who you choose and think hard about what you expect from this time as 4months may seem like a lond time but in reality its not that long to properly developr the strength required to really progress.
I hope that makes sense.?
Pm me if you like if you have any questions.

Distance isn't really an issue, I'm based in Cambridge and obviously it would be nice to have her close, but I'd rather travel for the right place. I don't need her to be taken out, or drastically improved in four months or anything, I would just like her to be somewhere where I can trust that she will be ridden most days, and ridden in a correct way. For example, people have told me stories about sending horses to "professionals" for a time, but obviously professionals are busy, and the horse has just been exercised occasionally by the grooms etc. You're right, it is difficult to choose, and obviously you can never be sure what will happen! I just wondered if anyone had any experiences they can share?
