Hi, I have been looking into getting my horse freeze marked and wondered if anyone could recommend a good company to use. They all say they are the best so thought it was worth asking people what their experience has been. Many thanks
The only two large companies I know of that cover nationally are Farmkey and Freezemark, both companies do very good work and keep databases and will assist with trying to locate any missing horse which has been freezemarked. Prices are pretty similar too. If I had to go for a preference I would say Freezemark, but only because I have known Mary for a very long time and she and her colleagues have been marking my horses for years
I had Farm key to freeze mark my horse, and it went really well no fuss from the horse nor the man doing the freeze, he explaned every thing to me and was in no rush to do the job and be gone... it only took about 5 mins to do the freeze marking.
I had farm key too for the cob and the lady was very nice, professional in her approach but down to earth enough for me to ask advice without being sneered at or looked down upon.
I would wholly recommend them and they are very reasonable for what it actually is and of course you have the peace of mind of being on a register too.
Cazx
I would definately recommend Freezemark over Farmkey, and they are the original company so have more kowledge and experience. from what I have heard, Farmkey can be rather hit or miss with the success of their markings.
ive booked with farmkey to come out but would prefer freezemark but the next apt is ages away so its supply n demand im afraid. u researched alot on the web and it does seem totaly 50/50 opinions / feedback on both companies.
Hi and thanks for all your replies and experiences. Freezemark seem to be a larger concern, their website certainly has more comprehensive info etc so I think that the one i'll contact. Thanks again.
