ADVICE on horse whohas recently been gelded

I have a 7 year old id who was gelded on the 1st of feb, i am moving him to a diy livery yard .
How should i go about introducing him to other horses and how long does it take for stallionish behaviour to stop ?

Sperm can be stored for up to 6 weeks so he needs to be kept seperate from mares for that long. He can go out with geldings straight away (although he'll obviously be feeling a bit sorry for himself for a week or so)

The stallion like behaviour may never stop: for some it's a habit :( Others only take a few weeks for the hormones to get out their system

I gelded a 6 yo ID last week! I wouldn't expect to put him in with other geldings for at LEAST 3 months! BUT - it depends on the individual. If he's still showing stallion-like tendencies, then it's too soon!! Remember that MUCH of a stallion's behaviour is learned - though the learning is fuelled by testosterone. If he was a quiet, easy stallion then it will take less time than if he was a randy boy! Also remember that a stallion's natural instinct is to KILL other males!!
 
hes easy to handle ride etc even when he was a stallion , he has been turned out accross the fence from others but hes running t them over the fence!
i have the option at the diy yard to keep him in a fenced off field on his own , but feel sorry for him being on his own .

6 weeks before going out with mares and a couple of weeks before going out with geldings just to let the hormones settle down a bit.
Unfortunately cutting an entire late (normally done younger) your gelding will have learnt his behaviour and it may never go.
He may ways be dominant which is fine if your in a field of horses that don't challenge him or that has mares the other side of the fence.
He'll be able to go out with others, it might just take a few field moves before you find the right field friends for him :)
