Advice on importing please

Can I pick your brains please guys?

I am looking to importing a very large donkey from Belgium, but am unsure as to what paperwork, Vet certs etc may be required and what time scale.

Before I get serious, could you give me some basic info in Importing from Belgium please.

All donkeys and horses are microchipped and passported.

The health papers and export documents are sent to two departments in Belgium-the local vet department who checks the horses and signs them and then another department over stamps them.

Papers are then valid for 10 days.

Be really careful abaout transporters... we imported a horse from Germany to sell on and he arrived in one hell of a state..., He was battered and bruised and dropped one hell of a lot of weight - we don't think he was rested properly... Just be sure to get someone with recommendations.
