Hi Guys,

I just need abit of advice as to what you should be feeding a 16.1TB Gelding who has just turned 18. He is in medium work schooled about 4 times a week (1 intense Lesson a week) and hack both days at weekend for about 2 hours per day. He doesnt have much turnout as we dont have much in winter has a couple of hours in a sand paddock and an hourish in the field once a week. This winter I have noticed that legs are filling up quite a lot more than normal so have been bandaging them over night which helps a bit(they are taken off through the day) was just wondering if feed was doing this?

Feed he is on is Alfa A 1 hf big sccops over 2 feeds, Senior mix 1 big scoop over 2 feeds 4 sccops of biotin as his feet are pants over 2 feeds and two sccops of garlic over 2 feeds. He drops a bit of weight in winter although he has done very well this yr pro due to time of with the bad weather.

I am thinking should he be on a joint supplement (he hates cod liver OIl & cidaer vinegar)if so is there one I could combine with the bad feet?

Sorry for the rambling oh by TB he is unknown and is quite a thick set one i.e legs head etc.

I will post a piccie tonight.

Thanks and sorry for the rambling.

Have a look on the UKNHCP forum - some good advice on feeding there

Linseed meal isa good way of feedign quality oils, and they lover the flavour too. £25 for 20Kgs from Charnwood - a tea mug per feed would be a good start
