Advice on my lame mare *LONG*

I must chip in and defend Nikki , she answered me when I sent her a letter by post that was not properly addressed as I did not know her proper postal address. Royal mail got the letter there and she sent me a text to say that my letter had arrived and that she would email me later, which she did. Unfortunately my horse could not be helped as he is lame in the fetlock not his feet.

If they care about horses should they not care about people too? I know they might be busy looking after horses etc but....? This is a business it isn't it after all?

"They" is Nic Barker. One person. Who does her absolute damndest to help people with their lame horses whether they pay her for her advice or not. She lives in a part of the country very badly served by internet connections and her service providers have also let her down from time to time. Each time that happens she goes to great lengths to use a dial-up slow connection to let people know, as anyone who reads her blog regularly (a goldmine of free information which you clearly are not aware of either) knows.

It is offensive of you to suggest, never having met her, or spoken to her(?), that Nic does not care about people.

I'm usually a "got to be the feet" person too. But having recently battled with 2 years of lameness with one of my horses, convinced it was the feet well nerve blocks did indicate it was the feet so never investigated higher really to be finally diagnosed with Check ligiment damage just a few weeks ago might be something to consider.

Surely the only thing that fits this scenario is that when your horse came sound with a nerve block to the foot, it was lame in the foot at that time? And if it now has damage to a check ligament, that damage is subsequent to the foot lameness? Nothing else makes sense to me .... I'll be very interested to hear whether your horse is sound and stays sound after the check ligament is healed.
