Advice on pelham pls

If a horse has a fairly small mouth , is it best to try a straight bar mullen type pelham ? ...Or one such as the myler comfort pelham with a small port ? ...Any advice much appreciated xx

I'd try the mullen first as the myler one is jointed which changes the action.

My boy has a shallow mouth and he loves his mullen mouth pelham.
