Hi, (also on competing thread)
How can I help my young mare with he little hang ups?
She gets quite stuffy at the beginning of the course as she is seeing horses coming back to finish and does not seem to understand this concept. Once she is going she's is fine, though still does not understand why there are people sitting near fences?!
Also she had this life scared out of her when we went to jump a double the judge opened up the tannoy , which was above my mares head and spoke. My mare was scared big time and as a result refused the fence. She never refuses fence and would not go near the double at all. I did take her back over a couple of fence when leaving the ring which she jumped, but I do t want this incident to effect her too much. Any ideas?
I will give her few days off and then jump a few small fences with a double.
