Hi

I share a lorry with two other ladies (one is TheresaW from on here), and we are trying to sell it. It is a great lorry, and we are only selling as my other friend and me have given up for a while, and it is a big extravagence!!!

Lots of you on here said we should advertise on Horsemart - which we did ten days ago - but have had no calls!!!!

What are we doing wrong????

Any ideas - please be tough!!!!!!!!

thankyou.

The trouble is there are a lot of lorries for sale at the moment and not many people buying as it's the wrong end of the season. The other thing that may put people off is that parts for ford cargo's are hard to come by now.

It takes time!! My lorry was on there for about 4 weeks before I got any proper calls!! Dont lose heart it will sell Im sure - Im off to have a look at the ad now!!

Sold our lorry on Horsemart - took some time but got plenty of calls. I'd say either retake last photo or remove - think angle makes it look very narrow inside - which it probably isn't. May just turn people off a bit. We found we had a lot of people come to look at ours who just liked the idea of a lorry - all full of how much they loved it and would come back with husband in couple of days etc and then would disappear!

To be honest, it may be too highly priced. I sold mine on Horsemart a few weeks ago, but we had to drastically reduce the price from where we started. In the end we got less than £4k for a D reg horsebox with very comfortable (and refitted in last few years) full living (incl generator).

Afraid I agree with Kermie, loads of people want living and may be unwilling to pay that much for an older lorry without any. I paid £3500 for my bedford (admittedly a couple of years older than yours but only 155,000 miles since new and pretty smart for its age!) and that carries 3 plus has really decent living. Maybe try emphasising if it is very reliable etc?

I'm not sure where this myth comes from but parts for cargo's are still readily available and cheap.
Whilst doing mine up I replaced the starter motor (£78) from a supplier 10 miles away. Complete exhaust system (New £130) from ebay. King pin (£75) arived next day by courier
Talking to mechanic who servied / plated lorry 3 months ago and he confirmed parts availibility was not a problem.
