i have a 12 year old TB x he is around 16.2 to 17 hh and Bay. I am just looking for some advice as it is my first season showing him.

Is there any products you could recommend?
Any tack i need to get?
What classes he could go into?
Just any general advice?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I'm sure it could help other people aswell. Thank you :)

Have you got a side on picture? depends on his type as to which classes you do. What tack have you got already, what level of showing are you aiming for? Sorry for all the questions but it is relevant to the amswers I give :)

I would not buy a showing saddle just yet in case you lose interest. A GP or dressage saddle will do for your first few times. If you want a numnah a saddle shaped one the same colour as either saddle or horse is good. Bridles of leather without bling and with cavesson noseband is correct. A pelham with two sets of reins or double bridle is usual, except for novice rider or young horse classes where a snaffle is fine. Is he delicate looking? A hack class or riding horse class could be appropriate or a hunter class if he is heavier built. The first two you have a velvet browband. Just be neat and tidy in your riding and appearance. Good luck with whatever classes you end up doing :) I love showing, all the general grooming and plaiting. My horse is perfect and when we walk round the ring I know he is the best, whether the judge agrees or not! If we get a rosette that is even better.
