Hi All,
my baby girl is going off to schooling livery next monday, to be properly backed by someone who knows what they are doing :)

so im just trying to arrange some third party cover for her whilst she is away, and in all probability i shall keep it up once she is home.

does anyone know of a policy which would cover her while she is at schooling livery? reading the conditions of several policies i have noted that the insured horse is covered for any rider "as long as no money changes hands" so am i right in thinking she would not be covered with the lady i am paying to school her?

and if so, where can i find a policy that will cover her while im paying someone to ride her?

any thoughts or experience very much appreciated

The person schooling horse is running a business and should have their own public liability insurance to cover horses in their care. Ask to see a certificate/policy, they should have something to show you.

The cheapest public liability insurance is through BHS gold membership, I think. You're right in thinking it won't cover the horse if the person riding/handling it is being paid.
