I have a Norton treeless which I'm trying to use on my super-wide 14.2 cob. The problem is it pushes straight onto her whither. So we bent the metal bar at the pommel to make it high - and now the ends dig into either side of her whither, despite using a thick pad.
The saddler will be visiting on Friday; she's advised me to do away with the bar completely and use a whither pad as well as the saddle pad.
I'm not keen on loads of pads under the saddle, although I appreciate a treeless is totally different from a conventional saddle.
Is anyone else out there using a Norton? Or a whither pad? Can you reccomend any particular brand of pad? Any experiences or advice would be appreciated.
