I need to find a new place for my horses and am hoping you guys might be able to give me some advice.

I am looking for either a field I can put stables (on skids) in or a field with stables/field shelter already in place. I need running water and electric.
I am willing to pay max of £400 per month. Oh and I have references (a sand school would be amazing, but unlikely so might want to put something on corner of field to ride on in hard ground etc)

SO...
1.Do you think I will be able to find somewhere?

2.Where should I advertise? I was thinking of doing some wanted ads and putting them through people's doors do you think this would be a good idea?

3.What should I include in my add?

If anyone could help that would be great :D :D

It is a shame I have to move from yard I have now as it is a lovely place. I really just want to find somewhere I can get on and not worry about the owners being there all the time etc does that sound unreasonable :p
 
I was in a similar situation to you.I was at a lovely place but the fuel costs for the Landy were crippling me,so i ask around the local farms and a lovely farmer has let me rent a field off him.i have put up a double stable (on skids) and have fenced the field off into quarters.I can do what i like with the field the farmer has given me cart blanche.The only time i see him is passing on the road.Maybe an idea to ask around the farms if you want to go it alone.

I am in Berkshire and it's quite difficult with farms most of them around here are owned by a non farming land owner and then have tenants in, but I will definatly try that. Thanks again 

Ment to ask, how did you approach the farmer? did you just go round to their door and ask or did you write to them?
Would £400 max a month be fair or too little/much? :D
 
where abouts in berkshire are you based, and when would you be lookjing to move?

I possibly know of a place coming available. It has 2 stables and 1 feed/hay barn currently. Doesnt have electric, although does have water. No school, but can be used in winter as on stones, so drains well. Also currently has 3 xc jumps.
