I posted yesterday about my horse having a hooley in the field and then feeling very odd to ride.

She was turned out last night and given a bute, went and checked her this morning and cannot find any sore bits at all. Obviously I appreciate she had had a bute last night which may well mask whatever she's done but she didn't feel sore last night at all either anywhere on her body although judging by how she felt to ride, I can only assume its something in her back end.

It just felt as though her front end and back end were not connected at all and she felt totally dreadful to ride which is why I brought her straight back. It was as though all the power had totally gone. She didn't play up at all but then she is such a kind mare, she probably wouldn't. I did feel, when I got on, as though I was riding in a different saddle and it just felt so odd.

I am going to ring the physio in a minute and get her to come out but I am concerned that she's pulled something major. From what I can see in the field, she did a fair few skids and her legs and tummy were filthy but it doesn't look as though she actually fell over.

Could she feel that awful from just wrenching something and is it possible that just field rest, bute and physio will mend her? Any thoughts on what she could have done? I just cannot find a single sore bit which makes me wonder whether she's done something deeper. I also am wondering how long I should leave her on field rest before trying to ride again.

She's normally such a forward going, happy soul that it felt doubly awful to ride her last night.
