I have a lovely sand school but in the winter it freezes and in the summer when we don't have rain for a while, it goes to dry and un ride able..:(

i was thinking of topping it up with either rubber or carpet fibre.
i have been told that if i put either down on top, i don't need to grade school so much.. and the going is so much better.

has anyone got any good or bad comments about both.
thanks :)

Hi, I have the same problem, after researching, I think fibre like carpet fibre (Clopf etc) may blow away ( my sand is blowing away and it's not in a particulary windy area either) so I am heading towards rubber, although I don't want the rubber to mix in with the sand but to lie on top of it and stay there. For me I think I might go with heavier rubber strips, so it's heavy enough not to blow off and will lie on the top.

uummm.. i was going more towards rubber, cause i thought the same about carpet fibre blowing away..

i have a wind netting now around my school as when dry and windy my sand did used to blow away..

is there different types of rubber and sizes ?
