sorry this a bit long..........OK, so , I have entered for our very first ODE, in two weeks time, it is only unaffiliated -in fact run by my daughters Pony Club- over a nice BE intro course, but still a really big deal for me. have had my chap since he was rising two and is nine this time, done all the work myself and he is good boy, loves to jump and always pretty honest SJ and XC, does a nice quiet dressage test, so all pluses there, on the downside he is a built a bit downhill so finds working in an outline quite difficult and we struggle sometimes with balance etc. we have done a few dressage outings plenty of local SJ and couple of Open Hunter Trials, normally get placed somewhere, but, never done all three in one day!
I am feeling a bit nervous and wanted a bit of advice, one of my concerns is that we dont have any studs and am worried that this might be at a disadvantage ? my plan at the moment is just to go along take everything steady and aim to go clear and stay safe. any advice appreciated
