Advice Please from Parents with Kids Competing re yard...

Top Mum!! Very sensible, child-centred decision. We have a "competitive" 7 yr old girlie on our yard, with a very pretty and opinionated Welsh Sec A mare. Ditto mother! Child is bored and irritable as wants to play and have fun, rather than have endless lessons/shows. So does the pony. Dutiful (and lovely) husband/father does all stable chores, poo picks, drives the smart horse box up and down the country, hail, rain and shine, any time, any where. Mother doesn't speak to us, child is generally miserable and whines and sulks. Husband/father keeps his head down and does what he is told!
Not saying you or daughter/pony are in any way like this, or would be heading that way, just so pleased she will be having varied sorts of fun at this age, and being given the opportunity to hunt and do H/Ts, which will improve her capacity to make good decisions at trappy fences, and carry on her horse/pony education. Lucky child!
