Hi, never posted here before, never having had a dog before... but am off to collect my new puppy on Monday and hoping to introduce him successfully to my 3-year-old cat. The cat had lived with dogs briefly before she came to me, and I have had a few friends' dogs to visit, none of which she has shown any great concern about or interest in.

Clearly a puppy moving in will be a bit different, have read a few websites for advice, but just wondering if anyone has any tips for a smooth meeting and future friendship..?

Many thanks!

Employ stair gates, employ crates, always let both the dog and the cat have an escape route and a place to go and hide, don't allow one to pester the other and don't force any contact.

The cat has amzed me, putting up with being chased, jumped on and generally tormented!

More puppy pics....? - voila! :-)

BTs are the cutest puppies! That is gorgeous.

Your cat is a star, I have enver had one but aren't Bengal's meant to be quite 'doggish'? As in playful and trainable?

My Bengal is certainly playful, even now at a few years old she will play by herself - somehow throws balls around and chases them for instance. As for trainable, I have heard that... - mine definitely isn't! She is contrary at the best of times, very sweet but definitely has a mind of her own - fortunately seems to be quite enjoying having the puppy around and it looks like they will be good company for each other eventually.

Definitely more videos please! I could have watched them play all night!! How fabulous that they play so well together. They look real buddies.

That video is so sweet, our old BT hated our cat, they were arch enemies. We have a new BT puppy now who will be introduced to the cat whilst his small so he doesn't think he can kill it every time he see it!

Got to love a Bengal. We had one, and he arrived at 11 weeks old and within 20 mins was bossing around 8 stone of Rottweiler!

Ps my current cat is a 6 month old British Shorthair and he plays with our 5 month old Portie like that - except the dog has rather outgrown the cat now!

So so cute :D Lovely to see a puppy and cat getting on so well! I can only hope introducing my cat to a new puppy goes as well...

The exercise is so good for the cat! - she was meant to be a brood-mare - or whatever the term is for cats... :) - but had to be spayed and re-homed, and because of that she is an indoor cat. Apparently Bengals do generally like dogs but I have been amazed.

Puppy meanwhile is looking like a furry little barrel on legs at the minute after hoovering up a bit of salmon skin meant as a treat for poor puss, along with a 'chew' - meant to prevent chewing wellies, cables and clothing - that lasted all of about 30 seconds and then had to be washed down with a whole bowl of water. Hoping he has a tough digestive system....!

How did I miss this???? The markings on your cat are beautiful and what a gorgeous puppy.

I think we need a thread dedicated to a constant stream of new videos of these two playing :D
