Hi All,
Due to the recent weather, my vets are on an emergency only basis at the moment. Just looking for some advice, I am well aware that the pooch probably needs to go to the vet and will call them when they are back up and running for some professional advice, just thoguht I would call upon the wisdom of you guys!
I have a very healthy and active 15 year old Parson Russell, never been sick or sorry in his life. Just under a week ago he developed a horrid sound hacking dry cough, almost as though he had something stuck in his throat, accompanied with a sort of crackly/gurgling noise. Through listening to Youtube and HHO, I'm treating it as kennel cough as that's exactly what the cough sounds like, he's been having honey and some childrens Benylin.
He hasn't lost any weight, doesn't have a fever and is his usual naughty happy self, just with a cough.
Would you continue treating it as kennel cough if he were yours and let him get on with it?
If I had the cough, rather than the dog, I wouldn't go to the doctors with it.
