I am new to this forum and you lovely peeps seem very well informed! Am thinking of entering a hunter trial at White House Farm - never been before and would be taking a 4yo for his first outing - has been xc schooling a few times and now time for a party. Probably only doing a 70-80cm class. Also might take nappy 6yo who has been napping his way around pre-novice the best class for him seems to be 90cm - 1m10, which is a slightly bizarre size range.

Any info on the course/advice would be gratefully received...

I have driven past it a few times, and from what I can see the jumps all seem to be close together in a couple of fields

The fences range from very tiny to some good sized large open fences, they are home made and some of them give you that feeling. But to be honest good outing for youngsters, i took mine there as a youngster! It is all in about 3 fields so v short course!

I thought the 90 - 1.10 range was very bizzare, i've done the open there before and its been fine, can't think of which fence is 1.10!! Elaine is very helpful and i'm sure if you enter, then walk the course they can swap your classes.

Good luck

yes, pretty rustic but fine for youngsters as party experience. I am going to take my 4 yr old for his second hunter trial on sunday too.
