My friend is thinking of buying a 3 year old filly who looks and sounds lovely BUT she had a foal last year which means she was only 2 when she had it! Isnt this a bit young to have a foal and what health problems will it cause in later life? She really likes the mare but doesnt want to be making a mistake. I've been told that having a foal too young can lead to a dipped back because their bones/muscles havent formed properly. Advie please!?

Wild horses have foals that young, she will be fine.

My friend in the US says they all ride and compete on 2 year olds !
