Bella appears to have smelly feet. They don't smell any different to me to be honest but a couple of people at the yard have commented on it saying she has thrush.

I have checked her feet and pick them out every day without fail. From what I've read thrush makes the frog softer and theres a black discharge too. While Bella doesn't appear to have discharge the area around her frog is darker

She is also a little reluctant to let me pick her feet out

Farrier is coming Thursday. What is the best thing I can do in the meantime? Wash with hibiscrub? Apply Stockholm tar? What is the best thing for it?

O and she is in no way lame. Considering the merry dance she led me this afternoon when I went to fetch her in

Make a mixture of 1 part Milton (the baby sterilising fluid) to 10 parts water in a trigger spray bottle (if your horse will put up with the trigger spray that is). Apply about 10 - 20 sprays of the mixture to the sole, frog and sulci (clefts), allow to dry, repeat ad lib - at least twice a day is best - until necessary.

Take care not to spray the skin with the Milton mixture.

You could alternatively brush the Milton onto the foot, if your horse doesn't like stuff being sprayed, or use a cloth (but remember to use gloves, because although very mild, especially when mixed with water - Milton is still a bleach).
 
just give them a good pick morning and nite and apply tea tree oil and purple spray if there is anything there this should clear it up and if there is nothing these two things will not harm the hoof either!
 
Get hydrogen peroxide from your chemist or horsey shop much cheaper from the chemist thought and buy a 5 ml syringe and put that at either side of her frog hold it to bubble up and then if she will let you sit her foot in a shallow bucket of water cleans the feet out a treat this is what the farriers suggest to use against things like thrush etc
