Advice please

I am separating my mare and foal next week and hate the fact he will be on his own. I ideally would like a companion but where too start looking ?
 
Is there anyone local who has another youngster you can borrow? Or take him to? Or any local studs who could do young-stock livery for a short period? There's usually a lot of people advertising companion horses too, but I guess it would depend on whether or not you want to take on another and for how long?
 
You've already asked this about 3 weeks ago. Either you are a troll or you are trying to get hold of people's much-loved horses for no good end. I am reporting you.

Whoa!!! am I missing something?, doesn't seem to be anything about wanting to get hold of people's much-loved horses in the original thread, seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to ask.

I went through the same when I separated my foal from his mum, and kept putting it off week on week .... finally, the foal had an old gelding to keep him company for a few weeks c/o a mate!
 
I take it you've tried all the charities suggested on the original thread & they are all out of companions? Or just buy a cheap one. Or, leave foal with whatever companion you were going to use for the mare, & move the mare to a yard. And its not a case of 'ideally' getting a companion, its just completely unacceptable to even consider otherwise.

Do you have any local rescue homes? I'm sure they would have one suitable. P.S ignore the silly comments ha ha
 
Firstly thank you for all the sensible comments, much appreciated. I have been putting off, but I have found a companions for him c/o a friend. Secondly I thought the whole point of a forum was to get other people's views, none of us know everything as much as you like to think you do. Please feel free, report me.
