i'm going to have my boy break in, in about september time. the person that is going to do it lives in the same village as me. would you send him to them or have them do him at your own yard? i think he will become stressed in a new enviroment. i don't think he will get any turn out as he will need individual as he attacks other horses in the field. so do you think i should keep him at home and for her to come to me to do him? what do you think is best?

if she is local then i see no reason in her coming to you - ultimately i would assume that you would want to go places with him in the end so he will have to learn to adjust at some point x

he will go places i.e shows, out for walks at the mo. it just a different stable enviroment that i think will send him mad as he is a bit riggy in his behaviour.

Its difficult as I do actually think a time away for a horse in a different environment whilst being backed can work wonders and gets them used to different environments and being out and about. I am planning on sending my horse away in August (if she is sound) and a lot of that is that I think the environmental change as well as the training will do her the world of good. It really depends if you are planning on competing and maybe spending time away from home with your horse they need to get used to it. If not then maybe have her comet to you.

My maths are good then eh? 2 + 2 = 7
