Ive fed it to my mare when she started to drop weight when she ran out of grass in the field .. she put the weight back on quickly so i wouldnt recommend it for good dooers
I dont really know much about it but the ponies love it
I wanted a non mollassed chaff that didn't contain Alfalfa...couldn't find one anywhere so feed merchant suggested D&H just grass and it's great. Nothing added, not dusty and nothing to set off a skin or behavioural reaction (my probs with Molasses and Alfalfa)
I only use a single small handful to mix mag ox & linseed into so the higher food value doesn't bother me
Really good if you want to feed a horse more natually i.e. fibre based rather than cereals which can be heating and cause ulcers etc. Keeps the weight on in winter. Also keeps a stabled horse occupied as it takes a while to eat, and gives them some variety rather than just hay/haylage. You can also use instead of chaff & mix with your hard feed. Some horses can be picky about it though, my new mare won't touch it and my friends horse is the same. Previously I have had horses that loved it, so might be worth getting a sample to try first if poss. Graze on is cheaper than readigrass from my supplier & is just the same.
