My Golden Retriever had a tumour at the base of his tail. He had chemotherapy to reduce the tumour which was then surgically removed along with his tail. This has been really successful apart from months on he still has a completely bald bottom! Most likely a result of chemo. Does anyone have any suggestions for encouraging his hair to regrow as he does look a little undignified - although I dont think he cares one bit

Thank!

Sorry about your dog's hairloss. Last year my Cavalier King Charles had a litter of puppies. It was awful for her, she took twelve hours to deliver eight puppies. She was so ill and stressed afterwards that a huge amount of her hair dropped out, and she had several large bald spots. I tried stuff from the vets to make her hair grow, but it didn't work. In the end I found an online site that sells herbal remedies for animals and bought sea kelp tablets (at the right strength). It took two weeks to see some new hair growth, and after six to eight weeks, she was like a Yeti. No problems since. Good luck.

Vaseline. In the eighties when bushy eyebrows were the 'in' thing (blame Brooke Shields) vaseline was recommended for thicker eyelashes, eyebrows etc. I used to go to bed at night with my eyelids plastered down with vaseline in the quest for for thicker eyelashes. It seemed to work, never needed mascara!

Thanks everyone for the advice. We have some aloe vera so we can try that now. We have been putting sudocreme on it to try to stop it chapping in the cold. I'll have a look for the other ones - anything to help it along!
