Advice/treatment of seedy toe please!

As title please!

Youngster has seedy toe in front feet - he has trims regularly and it was picked up in yesterday's trim. He also had the same last winter.

Is anyone else finding the wet weather bringing on seedy toe?

Yes one of mine has had it and now another one does too... typical!
I use artimud from Red horse products. its fab. all natural and stays in place even in wet/muddy conditions.

Silvetrasol spray from AEP Supplies is very good. Use it every couple of days. Good one of for the first aid kit, actually... can be used on minor cuts and grazes too.

How often do you put it on - I have looked at their website - its looks and sounds good!

My mare had this last year. I had been asking my farrier why her feet were making different noises on hard ground to which he said he didn't know. I had to get a remedial farrier for my foal who said he would do my mare too. He took her shoe off and couldn't believe it. He ended up cutting away the whole front section of her foot to within an inch of her coronary band! She was fine, although it looked a bit drastic! I kept it clean and flushed it out with iodine daily, now it's fine again, hoof wall to the floor, with no seperation.

My mare had this a few years back.
I treated it with watered down Hydrogen peroxide.
It worked too & soon got rid of the Seedy Toe.

My Horse has had it. The trick is keeping their feet as clean as possible. I used to scrub them clean using a water brush and tooth brush and Milton Baby serilising solution then sprayed Backtakill 55 over the nail holes. Did it everyday to start with then reduced it to once a week now its under control.
