Advice Writing my Will.....

I'm after advice or suggestions as I'm about to do my Will and I'm particularly keen to leave financial provisions and instructions on what should happen to my animals when I die. I have 2 horses and 2 ponies ranging in age, size and ability - is there a charity who accepts a donation in return for rehoming or any retirement yards that offer forever homes? I also have dogs and cats but these are sorted! Sorry I know this is a rather morbid post but it has to be done, I can't bear the thought of them ending up somewhere unsuitable.
 
I have a good friend listed as recipient for mine (with her agreement) but I have own land/yard, so this is also included for the lifetime of the equines I own at the time of my death, as also a capital sum for their care & the land maintenance.
I have also got written in, that any equine which I have owned for more than xyz years &/or who is aged over 15yrs, is to be pts if friend is unable to care for them at my yard.
My DH knows this, so does friend - and also my spread out family.

My sharer is gifted big lad, if she can afford to keep him, if not yard owner is instructed to sell them both. And all tack ect, my son gets procedes, of course horses may be long gone by I meet my maker!!!

Thanks for your reply, I was hoping to have a similar arrangement to you i.e. leaving yard to my best friend on the agreement that my horses could stay there as long as necessary, if a suitable new home wasn't found but my friend has recently had a bad fall and lost all nerve and sold her horse...... hence I need a plan b....
 
I have left both mine to my friend with money to take care of them. One she will ride and he's perfect for her and the other she said she will keep as a pet as she loves his personality :)
 
I've always thought this was a good idea but not yet picked up phone to charity, I'm sure if you give them a call on Monday morning they'd discuss it with you, only thing to consider is that when I sort it out I'll offer them a substantial donation to make it worth their while - not just to look after mine but let them have something left over - I was thinking of £10-15k per horse depending on their age.
Even nice riding horses now which could be put on loan by the charity might need 5-10 years in retirement.

I haven't sorted it yet as my current two would be pts in event of something happening to me, both elderly and ridden one is querky to say the least!

My plan B is family to step in to sort out my wishes if friend cannot/ pre-deceases me etc.....

Is there a charity that you know of? I've heard of charities that deal with small animals but not horses - oh might be a gap in the market.....
