Hiya everyone
sorry for the long post but I'm looking for some advice as i'm seriously stuck with what to do, my daughters pony is out on loan and I thought he was doing ok and happy I visit him regularly and keep in touch but lately they've been forgetting to reply to my messages or they dodge around my questions about how's the little girl getting on riding and things. We went to visit them as I was concerned with how they were acting and I hadn't managed to get over since feb. I was shocked when I saw him he was so fat he had a big crest, fat pads on his shoulders, bum and back legs and a gully down his spine. They don't seem to be taking his weight seriously and with him being a native I'm surprised he hasn't got laminitis. The girl that rides him hasn't been riding him for more then about 5 mins in walk a week and after watching them lunge him he struggled to trot and he just didn't have the same sparkle that he use to and it really upset me. I know the little girl really loves him and I don't want to upset anyone but i'm seriously concerned for my pony's health, now do I bring the pony home so I can get the weight off myself and get him fit then considered getting a sharer for him from home or do I write them a letter saying if he doesn't lose a certain amount of weight that i'll ended the contract. I really don't know what to do but I can't stop thinking about how lifeless my pony looked he use to have such a sparkle to him.
