Advice

My FB feed currently seems filled with ads from owners wanting someone to bring on a green or project horse. Almost all are dressed up as a share or part loan but what they want is someone else to shed the blood, sweat and tears (and possibly get very broken in the process) to bring on a horse they are terrified of.

OP - there are lots and lots of genuine owners out there with much nicer horses for loan or share. I'd walk away from this one. You've said yourself you are worried about getting hurt so I don't see what the motivation would be to continue to be honest.

Call me cynical - and I appreciate I don't know the full back story - but why does the owner have a young, green horse and they don't ride it at all? Does (s)he ride other horses, just not this one? Are you prepping the horse to be sold or is she going to ride it when it's older?
If you have any concerns about getting hurt and you cannot "afford" to get hurt then I would have packed my bags and gone by now.

I actually thought this as well about the owner it sounds like she is getting quite a good deal having someone ride her green Un schooled rude horse for free, I know someone who has 3 sharers ride their horse which they never ride and they share something else to ride, but guess what it dumps the sharers quite regularly ! I really don't know how people get away with it I wouldn't expect anyone to do anything with my horses unless I was prepared to do it myself.

Sounds like you aren't experienced enough and don't want to risk falling off, so no brainer and I'd terminate the loan.

It can be a common response in young horses, particularly more athletic ones.

My current mare is angelic but has bronked 3x in her life.
Once during vetting when the saddle moved (girl went to hospital and I got on to complete vetting).
Once when she spooked and put me off balance and then bronked and snapped her reins.
Once on an extremely windy day and she bronked the saddle (and me!) off.
All scenarios occurred when the saddle or rider got out of balance and she would panic and then not be able to stop her panic until she removed the predator on her back.
I think it stems from not being thoroughly broken and she is a very quiet mare who people may not realise is sensitive. Definitely not pain.
All above happened in 11 months and we are well over a year on with no further issues at all but I wasn't scared and I am experienced enough to know why I thought she was having this reaction.
Even though she is now very reliable and beautifully schooled, I wouldn't put a novice on her as clearly an unbalanced rider can upset her.

Ive had lots of offers for shares and part loans. 😀 Just need to make decision about current one. I'm just not a quitter. 😕 X

I really don't understand what you want us to say. Many of us think this is normal young/green/sensitive horse behaviour. You have said you don't want to get hurt, which is quite understandable. In my eyes it's a no brainer, the horse may (or may not) display this behaviour again, but you don't want to risk an injury, so send him back :) Simple.
