Just after some advice really. My mare has been scouring pretty badly over the last few days (first noticed sat afternoon) She is eating/drinking as normal, is completely fine in herself and her breathing is normal. She had her teeth done on Monday (they hadn't been done for a long time before I got her so were pretty bad and caused a few ulcers) she didn't eat much of her haylage at night for a few days but was eating her hard feed fine. She is on horse and pony cubes, mollichaff and has 365 feed balancer and has been on this since I've had her at new yard - about 6-7 weeks. Same grazing since we've been there, wormed about 2-3 weeks ago, jabs up to date. This morning she wasn't as bad but her droppings looked quite slimy and fairly green too. I've said if still no improvement when I go down later on I will call vet out but just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on things, maybe experienced similar? Thanks in advance.

Has she been out on grass? I think because of it being quite mild, theres been a late flush. My girl has ballooned a bit because of this also the cold snap plays a bit with the sugars in the grass. I would perhaps feed hay instead or atleast half and half and I found adding a pre and pro biotic to the diet has really helped my girl. Its firmed her up lovely. I put her on Thunderbrook feed which has both a pre and pro biotic in it other wise brewers yeast and yea sacc should be fine.

My fattie boy has been doing cow pats for a couple of days - very unlike him - have made no change to his diet or routine etc so only thing I could put it down to was the autumn grass being a bit lusher than I thought. I have put his muzzle back on and given him some digestion settling powder and he seems back to normal now. A few people on the forum have mentioned their grass being richer than normal for the time of year - it's caught me off guard a bit :-). Try upping the hay and cutting down on turn out time and see if she improves.

Do you have a lot of leaves down? mine have been hoovering faster than OH can gather with the winds we have had and that always makes 2 of them very soft.

Try either a large spoonful of natural yogurt to her feed or yea sacc and brewers yeast...for a good 2 weeks and see if she improves, helps balance the gut after sedation, antibiotics or wormer..
