Wanting to replace my cheap/basic Stubburn dressage saddle which has served its purpose well, but want to get a more comfortable and supportive one. I have also lost a lot of weight and feel a bit lost in the 18 inch now.
Look at me on a horse and I'm clearly someone who SJ'ed all through my teenage years but dressage fits better into my life now as a busy sole parent of 2 (i like having a time and not hanging around all day for the next class). I'm having lessons with a fab instructor and in 8 months we have gone from 55% in intros to consistent high 60's prelim and planning to move on to novice soon.
Z has a shockingly bouncy canter (great for jumping) which is getting better with work and since getting the cheapy, but I'm thinking a saddle with the extra knee blocks would support me better and allow him to work better without be losing balance etc.
What are your opinions on them?
I have in the past ridden a friends horse in a Wintec Isabel Worth and i did feeling secure but perhaps a tad restricted..... (and god did i ache after) is this just a case of getting used to it or is it just restrictive?
I'd prefer a leather but will probably have more choice in models if looking at synthetics in my budget of around £600.
Any advise greatly received.......
