Hi,
I want to start taking my just five year old hunting this autumn but fear i might get bucked off in the first five minutes. I used to hunt regularly but about 15 yrs ago when i used to work for a MFH, I think it is more than likely my five year old hunted in Ireland, so no worries there, but my horse has a mean buck when he is in the mood.
I know if i can get him going he will calm down after the first canter, but I have been at meets before where you can't get moving and people seem to always get in your way even if you let them know your horse may do something or wear a ribbon. I was thinking of talking to the local hunt and seeing if Icould go hound exercising and maybe go early season (is it still called cubbing?) in the week when it will be quieter, any suggestions apart from kick on and hold on ;0)
