How long does it normally take for the AES to send a passport back?
I bought a yearling colt 4 months ago and was told passport wasn't back! Every time I contact previous owner I just get told it will be sent to me asap (not good enough really!). I will be ringing the society tomorrow to see if its actually been sent away!!!!!!

Thanks for all your reply's. Lynne B apparently this is his registration. But have contact AES today and no one seems to know anything about him now on to chase previous owner!!!!!!! Just goes to show sometimes buying horses from reputable studs are sometimes more trouble than its worth!!!!!!!!!!

I've had it before where someone says they have sent off for the passport and they haven't, and then they put it off and put it off... trouble is as he wasn't registered as a foal, now it will cost more and they may well ask for DNA tests to be done too, may get away with it if the cover certificate was filled out correctly prior to weaning, have you checked to see if he is microchipped? If he isn't microchipped I would think its unlikely he's even had his drawings done for the passport.

I can't believe how many studs don't do their registrations as foals still, I bought a 3yo earlier this year and when she arrived she finished filling out the cover certificate when she dropped her off and the vet had done the drawing and microchip the day before on the other side.

*polishes halo* I do all mine prior to weaning :)
