Hi
I have

Rising 4 ( may 2020)
16.2
Welsh x Oldenburg ( Part bred registered) looking to over stamp sports horse.

I'm gutted to realise he's now too old for the price family supreme in hand qualifiers for HOYs

He's backed and riding away but due to size I do not want to push under saddle and would like him to see the world a bit more in hand.

I've done a few part bred classes but they always seem to have smaller ponies and I always feel a bit out of place in the ring so not sure if I want to keep pursuing that avenue or do I go down sports horse / hunter?

I've attached a pic for some sort of reference. He's not fine he has a good bit of bone for his type.

Any show suggestions or qualifiers I should look at this year greatly appreciated 😊 Screenshot_2024-04-14-22-21-27-52_99c04817c0de5652397fc8b56c3b3817.jpg

His absolutely beautiful I would aim for county level in hand classes so register him now for what you want to aim for in ridden, I'm sure they do in hand Hunter and riding horse in hand County level.

Where are you?

I showed mine in hunter classes which she did well in and riding horse which wasn’t so good. She won the small hunter class at Essex show when she was 2, many years ago. I really enjoyed showing her and it gave her a really good experience of show grounds before actually rode her at one. If you treat it like fun and education it’s not so bad if you don’t get placed ..

At County level you will struggle to find in hand classes for a 4 year old gelding as in hand classes tend to be the province of breeding stock.

Unaffiliated Stars qualifiers may have jn hand classes for adult horses but I'm not certain.
