Hey everyone, im only 15 but i have experience of my hole life so please dont comment on my age. My horse is affiliated and has been to hickstead 7 times so she is a great jumper. I bought her begining of this year and i was hoping to do affiliated shows with her next summer but iv heard i have to become part of british show jumping to do this, does anyone know how i can come a part of this?
 
It's £6 or £7 per class normally, not per day. But some show centres do it for free.

Have you seen your new horses record at all?

She could have jumped the 90s at hickstead as they have amateur shows there too.
 
Tickets are always £6 per class around here (thought that was the BS set price). Although some centres offer free tickets usually in British Novice classes, but sometimes in others too.

Her full name is fils rouge, born 1995. Theres a sticker in her passport saying british showjumpih with a number underneath is that to show shes affiliated?
 
Tinap555 you might well be right it's been a while since I jumped on a ticket but I knew it was around £7 so might actually be £6 but I do know I only had to buy 1 day ticket for the day not per class.
 
So they saying ticket per class.?? I was convinced it was per day, oopps my mistake. Maybe I got some free tickets or something. It was going back a number of years ago, and then I just joined.
 
You cannot recieve any winnings if you jump on a ticket :(

Is the description of the mare correct? It has the sire listed as Cinnamon Reef & dam as Bel Canto Van Het Broek xx
 
Maybe she jumped at hickstead with pony club as i know a few people who have competed there at pony club qualifiers and finals.

Or maybe, the previous owners told a few porkies? :rolleyes: x
 
Hickstead often host shows that are not premier. We are affilliated - but have only jumped at Hickstead with the Pony Club. But I've tried searching your horse name to see if there are any published results for her with pony club, riding clubs Schools SJ etc and I'm afraid I can't find anything.

But a lack of a previous record doesn't stop you affilliating if you want to. You can compete on a day ticket. Some of the big magazines (Horse, Your horse etc) have free day tickets in them during the spring.

But if you join BS as an affilliate you can also get access to the junior academy which might help with training. But becuase she is a horse not a pony you can't compete with the juniors, so you need to keep an eye out for the senior shows.
 
Some of the local shows near me run a couple of unaff classes before the BS start, and if you are placed in those (1st -3rd I think) then they give you a ticket to jump on for one of the affiliated classes, worth looking around for :)
