Affiliation and competitions

Hey, I'm looking to see if I should affiliate as i wish to do eventing. What does this actually entail? Could anyone tell me how i'll go about affiliating for eventing and then where i could find the information to competitions. For example I would propably start with intro and work my way up. Where would i find an intro competition and how do i enter? thanks very much for all the help you can provide.

yes most people start with getting a day ticket, which you fill in and send as a schedule to whichever event you want to enter, its all very straightforward.

What area are you in? A day ticket would prob be most cost effective until you know where your events are and how much you want to/can afford to do!!

Just phone up british eventing, or if you go on to the site you can down load application form.

It depends how many you plan to do. I did work it out, I think if you do over 4 events then its cheaper to register (once added up the day ticket costs). You only get a certain number of day tickets anyway so you'd need to work out how many you want to do.

Remember though, if you're on a ticket and they ballot - you'll be the first to go!

One further thought is that in Jan/Feb there are some courses specifically for anyone thinking about competing BE Intro/PN. I think these are new but might be worth a try if they are in your area.

depending on area you may be able to do the pre intro classes which were on last season. If you phone BE they are really helpful.
