The spaniel has FINALLY gone to bed, and is falling asleep! She has honestly been on the go for all that time, either, on a walk, or in the garden, or playing with a slipper, or playing with anything that a dog can play with, or pacing backwards and forwards because she didn't know what else to do, or jumping on the chair, or getting in and out of bed, or trying to play with my older whippet x!!
I'm tired for her!!

Is this what spaniels are truly like? Got 2 weeks of this. Arghh!!

Only 9? My junior GSD is on the go from 6.30am til 10pm, no breaks, no stopping, lying down for a rest is anathema to him. He is currently trying to play with two balls at once while 'seeing off' my older GSD, who isn't remotely interested. And I wouldn't have a spaniel because I think they are too lively :D perhaps you are getting off lightly and she's preparing to ramp up her activity when she's settled in!
