Its been a long search with a few failed vettings, but ive finally found my new horsey partner. I cant say how excited I am as its not been the easiest of years. I lost my 2 horses at the start of the year, with only 2 weeks apart. The first to old age and then my beautiful 6 year old to stifle OCD, which had as you can imagine, a huge effect on the whole family.
With great thanks to John Rodia (Yeguada Rodia) who has been such a fantastic help in all things PRE, I found my beautiful horse Coliseo at the Yeguada Maipe.
He isnt home yet, as waiting for John Parkers shared transport. Im based on the Kent / London borders, so if anyone has any names of a trainer with specialist knowledge of the baroque types (for supplementary training) that would be very appreciated.
Ive also kinda blown the entire budget on the purchase, so if there are any little pieces of must have equipment for this breed (bits? brushes? mane bags? solutions to keep greys clean? lol) that are relatively cheap then please pass it on too.
I hope you all like him! he has been bought primarily for dressage but then also for Le Trec. Im not sure if he will stay a stallion, as im not a breeder, but he does have lovely lines as do all the horses at the Maipe. The best thing is that we have seemed to click almost instantly, more so than any horse ive ever ridden (gush gush)
Oh and almost forgot! im really having trouble thinking of a pet / nickname for him, as Coliseo is a little bit of a mouth full!!! so far I think the front runner is Cole, but others have suggested Colin (not a chance lol) Cauliflower (LOL) Hugo (random) and Seo (sayo)
Any thoughts?
Thank you for reading and indulging me!
