As per the title. I have finally got another horse coming. I am so excited I cannot think if I have everything I need.
Stable rugs
Fleece rug
Turnout rug
Headcollars and lead ropes
Feed bins. Water buckets, feed buckets
Barrow, fork. Brush
All grooming brushes, tack box
Lunge line etc
Travel boots
Exercise sheet
Got bridle and bit
Girth and stirrups
Saddle is coming with so don't need to worry about that.
Anything else that people can think of. I am so excited I really can't wait :)

Good luck!
Not muck else required there , polos, too many lovely coloured saddle cloths perhaps? Few first aid bits and pieces ?
How exciting.

Aw I know it feels mad I've not even ridden in that time either. Well apart from trying the horse out haha
I have a a nice new saddlecloth but couldn't hurt to get some more :)

I'd keep money aside to get a saddler out to check the saddle the horse is coming with fits correctly. Other than that it sounds like you've got everything covered.

WOW how exciting.
Riding hat for you.
Insurance for you both.
Farrier/trimmer
Register with vet
Haynets
Photos when he/she is home

Not sure what livery you will be on but you might need stable equipment such as fork, broom, wheelbarrow...at one yard I was on I even had to supply the ring to tie the hey net up at!!
Have you got bedding, hay, feed?
Get phone numbers of farrier, dentist and vets ready.
Look around for insurance companies if your getting insurance?
Stuff for yourself like yard boots, wellies etc...winter is a mucky & muddy time if year! Thick socks a hat and gloves!
There is always stuff to buy, it's a never ending shopping list when it comes to horses!!

I have wheelbarrow etc. I'm just on DIY I like to do it myself. Got riding hat, yard boots, wellies. Riding boots. Gloves. Got farrier sorted. Vet sorted.and all hay and bedding sorted. Getting it delivered of local merchant on the Saturday.had a few quotes of a few insurers so will sort something on Friday

High viz for you and/or horse. It's either really grey out hacking at the minute or bright low sun. Both conditions can make it difficult for drivers to see you on the roads.
I'm one that dislikes looking like a Christmas tree to hack, preferring my navy jacket etc but I wouldn't risk my horse at this time of year and have been shocked whilst driving at dark horses and riders almost appearing from the shadows!
Secondly a waterproof exercise sheet is invaluable as no waiting for soggy horses to dry off before you can rug up properly!
Best of luck... Bet this is the slowest week ;)

A hoof pick! I'm sure you've included this in your grooming kit but I managed to forget this?!
A salt lick or something for in the stable?
A torch? :)

Good luck, very exciting for you :D

Yes this week is going soo slow lol. I have all my hi viz. got about 5 hoof picks as I used to go through loads last time I had a horse haha. Yes I will get something for the stable. Thanks guys will have to get some pictures uploaded when he comes :)

Got bedding and hay coming on the Saturday. Although I have no idea how much straw I need. Its a big stable. Bigger than the standard size ones I've had. We order in our bedding etc so I might just get two big straw bales ordered one to last me the month. And the other to use for initial bed.
