After a trailer now

I tried my boy in a trailer this morning and he was fine! He is a big 16.2 so we took the middle partition out and I was worried he would have a bit of a flap as he has only ever travelled in a lorry but he took it all in his stride. Just need to sell the lorry now and look out for a vehicle and trailer!

Any suggestions as to a nice cheap towing vehicle - I reckon it needs to be able to pull about 2000 kgs comfortably? OH is good at mechanics so I can go for an older vehicle. He has suggested a Japanease make as he says the older ones are a bit more reliable. ALSO - what are the chances of finding somewhere that would swap a lorry for a trailer or is this a lost cause? The lorry is a 7.5 tonne Bedford?

If you advertise it as would be willing to swap!

I just wondered if anyone had ever managed to do it - it seems too good to be true - I have a 7.4 tonne Bedford I don't want and you have a trailer you don't want!

The main thing to remember is to get a 'Real 3x3', like Land Rover, Shogun etc not some of the smaller 4x4s because they have neither the weight or power to comfortably tow a trailer with heavy horse/s on board. Your OH should be able to advise you on which vehicle as he is mechanically minded, after all he's the one whi will work on it for servicing & repair.

We buy white diesel in bulk but ours (long wheel base) does about 350 miles on a full tank. Most of that is around town though as we seldom go on long drives.
